At 21, Calla hasn’t done a lot of things. She’s never been kissed, never seen the ocean, never gone to an amusement part. But growing up, she witnessed some things no child ever should. She still carried the physical and emotional scars of living with a strung-out mother, Mona—secrets she keeps from everyone, including her close circle of college friends.

But the safe cocoon Calla has carefully built is shattered when she discovers her mom has stolen her college money and run up a huge credit card debt in her name. Now, Calla has to go back to the small town she thought she’d left behind and clean up her mom’s mess again. Of course, when she arrives at her mother’s bar, Mona is nowhere to be found. Instead, six feet of hotness named Jackson James is pouring drinks and keeping the place humming.

Sexy and intense, Jax is in Calla’s business from the moment they meet, giving her a job and helping her search for Mona. And the way he looks at her makes it clear he wants to get horizontal…and maybe something more. Before Calla can let him get close, though, she’s got to deal with the pain of the past—and some very bad guys out to mess her up if she doesn’t give them her mom.

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that I absolutely love everything that Jennifer L. Armentrout/J. Lynn writes. And In the past year, I've been loving her New Adult contemporary romances. Unsurprisingly, the latest one, Stay With Me, did not disappoint me.

Since leaving home at 18, Calla hasn't looked back. She wanted nothing to do with her hometown and all the bad memories it brought up. In the years since leaving, Calla has made a new home for herself in college, with friends and a future. But that all threatens to fall apart when Calla discovers that her mother has stolen all the money she planned to use for college and accumulated a large amount of debt in her name. Now, Calla has to go back home, to the place she thought she would never return. But when she walks in to her mother's bar, it's not her mom she finds but Jax. Jax immediately gets in Calla's business, whether she wants him to or not. But the most time she spends with Jax, the more Calla realizes that she's got to deal with everything that's happened in the past, it's the only way she'll ever be able to move forward.

Stay With Me is one of those books that kept me up until the early hours of morning because I just couldn't bear to put it down. No matter how late (or early) it got and even if I knew that I had to be at work the next day, I just kept reading. It's no secret that I love J. Lynn's books, I've devoured every one of her NA contemporary romances. But every time I know there's a new one coming out and I pick it up to read, there's always this concern in the back of my mind that I won't enjoy it, or that it won't be as good as the other ones were. This was definitely true with Stay With Me. But, as per usual where J. Lynn is concerned, I really shouldn't have worried. I got sucked in to Stay With Me just like I did with the previous two books in this series. Like I mentioned in my review of Be With Me, it helped that I already knew some of the characters in this story. I had seen Calla in the background of Be With Me and I really enjoyed getting to read her story and find out more about her. And I'm not going to lie, I really enjoyed seeing how her story fit in with Jax because he was completely new to me. And the romance between these two was just what I've come to expect from J. Lynn and her books. It was just the right mix of sweet, hot, intense and complicated. If I'm being honest, those are kind of my favourite kind.

I had previously gotten a glimpse of Calla in Be With Me, and all I really knew about her was that she was friends with Teresa and she had a pretty obvious scar on her face, which isn't all that much. But once I started reading and she began describing Cam, Jase and Ollie as the Hot Guy Brigade, I knew I would like her. And the more I read about Calla and her story, the more I liked her. She had a difficult past that led to her understandably having some trust issues. And no one brought on the trust issues more than Jax did. I'll admit that I wasn't sure how to feel about Jax at first. He just seemed so pushy and intent on getting involved in Calla's business without her inviting him to do so. He just kinda rubbed me the wrong way. But the more I learned about him, the more grew to like him. I don't really want to say that he took me by surprise, but he was worth sticking around for. And of course, I loved getting a glimpse of the couples from the other books (including a surprise appearance!)...though I'm still waiting for Ollie and Brittany to get their own.

As you might have guessed by now, I loved J. Lynn's Stay With Me. It was another great NA contemporary romance that sucked me in and made me fall for some new characters. I already can't wait until the next book in this series.

Be With Me by J. Lynn

Title: Be With Me (Wait For You #2)
Author: J. Lynn

Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year--she's in love with her big brother's best friend, but he hasn't spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It's time for Plan B--college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real.

Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he's not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend's incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn't have time for relationship. But it doesn't help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.

As they're thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can't keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they're willing to risk to be together, and what they're willing to lose if they're not...

I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record at this point but, J. Lynn/Jennifer L. Armentrout can do absolutely no wrong, no matter what she writes. So of course, I absolutely LOVED Be With Me and I just couldn't seem to turn the pages fast enough.

Teresa always thought she would be going to the Joffrey Ballet School once she graduated from high school. But when a fall on stage results in a torn ACL, Teresa finds herself registering for classes at the same university as her brother, Cam. Which would be fine, if Teresa wasn't completely in love with Jase, her overprotective brother's best friend. It wouldn't be so bad if she knew Jase felt nothing for her, but a year ago they shared an epic kiss…and she hasn't heard from Jase since. Now, everywhere she goes on campus, Teresa seems to run into Jase. She knows she should stay away and not get involved with him. But unless Teresa's mind is playing tricks on her, Jase seems to also be attracted to her. Except Jase has secrets of his own he's not sure he's ready to share just yet.

To say I devoured Be With Me would be somewhat of an understatement. Once I started reading, there's very little that could have gotten me to put the book down. That might have had to do with the fact that I was dying to read the book when I got a copy of it. So it really shouldn't come as a surprise when I say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Be With Me. I loved getting lost in this story. It helped that I already knew the world and the characters, and I loved that all the characters I got to know in Wait for You were still around. It made me enjoy the story that much more. One thing I was concerned about with Be With Me was how it could possibly live up to what I had built it up to in my head. And I was afraid it wouldn't be as good as Wait for You was. But really, I had nothing to worry about. Once again Jennifer L. Armentrout didn't disappoint. I couldn't have asked for a better story for Teresa and Jase. And as you may have suspected, the romance was there and there was plenty of it. And I LOVED it. Because I ADORED Jase and Teresa.

When I read Wait for You last summer, I had gotten glimpses of both Jase and Teresa, but I didn't know much about them beyond the basics. And I'm glad I really got to know them in Be With Me, because I fell in love with both of them. Teresa was different than I thought she was going to be. At first I couldn't help but think of her as Cam's little sister, but I quickly stopped thinking of her that way. Teresa was her own person, and she deserved to find someone who really cared about her after everything she had been through. And though he didn't seem like it at first, Jase was absolutely that person for Teresa. Jase was no Cam, but he was something special. For most of the book, Jase was this code I was trying to crack. But once I did, I just wanted to hold him. Without revealing too much, just know there's a lot more to Jase than what you might think for the better part of the book. But know that it's worth it to take the time to peel back Jase's layers.

If it wasn't clear, I LOVED Be With Me. It more than lived up to what I had hoped it would be. If you haven't already give J. Lynn's New Adult a try, you really should because you won't be disappointed.

Wait for You by J. Lynn

Title: Wait for You (Wait for You #1)

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago--an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on there left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe--please God--make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn't need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she's building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that's just so…lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no there choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her.

And some things are worth fighting for...

Over the past year and a half, I've become quite the Jennifer L. Armentrout/J. Lynn fan. And after having now read Wait for You, I can say that she does New Adult contemporary just as well as she does Young Adult paranormal. In case that wasn't clear, I LOVED Wait for You. So much so I read it all in one sitting.

All Avery wanted out of college was a fresh start far away from home and all the tormenting of her past. But after literally waking into Cam Hamilton, things take an unexpected turn, especially once she finds out Cam lives across the hall from her. Before long, Cam has wormed his way into Avery's life and Avery isn't so sure she wants him to go away anymore. But the closer Avery gets to Cam, the more afraid she is that night five years ago is going to come back and haunt her. But what if Cam is exactly what Avery needs to finally move on with her life?

I love Jennifer L. Armentrout's paranormal stories and as excited as I was about Wait for You, I was a little afraid that it wouldn't quite live up to my expectations. In the end, I got sucked in right from the start. I had told myself I would only read a few pages to see what it was all about and before I knew it, it was a couple hours later and I was a couple hundred pages into the book. And I wasn't about to stop reading any time soon. Wait for You completely captivated me. There was just so much more to the story than I thought there would be. The story made me laugh, but it also brought tears to my eyes and broke my heart at times. And even though I could guess what had happened to Avery right from the start, I just kept reading, waiting to see if I was right. But I also just wanted to keep reading, if only just to see Cam and Avery's relationship develop. Because it was't perfect and that's what I loved about it.

Even though I hadn't gone through what she had, I could relate to many aspects of Avery's personality and that's what made me like her so much. That and she was a lot stronger than she gave herself credit for. Now if only she had trusted the people who really cared about her a little more, things could have gone a little smoother. But then I wouldn't have been able to see all the great sides of Cam's personality. Because Cam might just be my new book boyfriend. Cam was everything I hoped he would be. He was the whole package: good looks, smart, loyal and one of the sweetest and most caring guys. And he bakes cookies and cooks breakfast. So yeah, I might be a little in love with Cam. But can you really blame me?

Wait for You was so much more than I hoped it would be. It might even be one of my favorite books this year. And in my books, Jennifer L. Armentrout can do no wrong, no matter what she writes.

About the book:

Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the "man" in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to rio their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feel ins he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of the tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feel ins for each other from coming to the surface.
