New Covers Galore! - Take Two

Last week I had a post featuring book covers that had recently been revealed. Once again, a large number of covers have been revealed this week (and a few that I didn't include last week) and I decided to again feature them all in one handy post. Why wouldn't I do a post just about absolutely gorgeous covers...it's not like people judge books by their covers right?

Fallen in Love by Lauren Kate
January 2012

I'll admit it now, I haven't actually read any of Lauren Kate's books but I have loved all the covers for them. There is just something about those covers and I don't really know how to explain it.

Destined by Aprilynne Pike
April 2012

The Wings series is another series that I have yet to read but I just love the covers. I would honestly not be above getting these covers as posters because they are just gorgeous. If the books are as great as the covers (and as everyone says they are) I would probably love this series.

The Selection by Kiera Cass
April 2012

I absolutely love this cover. The dress, the girl wearing the dress, and the mirrors that make it so you see everything over and over again. This cover is just plain gorgeous. I just hope the story, which sounds fantastic, will be as great as the cover.

Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris
April 2012

I only just recently found out about this book but it sounds absolutely great. The cover is relatively simple but I really like the way it is done with some of the people facing forward while others are walking away.

Darkness Before Dawn by J.A. London
May 2012

So maybe I should have called this post "Covers with girls wearing dresses" because it is definitely a recurring theme in covers lately. But moving on, I really like this cover though I don't really know how it fits in with the story. I'll just have to wait for next May and see.

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins
May 2012

And it's another cover featuring a girl wearing a dress! In all honestly it is starting to be overdone but in this case I really like that the dress is different. It's tight instead of big and flowy and just  that is a nice change. Plus the red and black just screams evil in my opinion.

Surrender by Elana Johnson
June 2012

This is the companion novel to Possession which came out earlier this year. I love the simplicity of the cover and the bird stuck in the glass jar. And if it's like Possession, the cover will be all shimmery which will make it that much prettier in person.

Arise by Tara Hudson
June 2012

Arise is the sequel to Hereafter which came out earlier this year. I love how the two cover are closely related and how in this case, the girl wearing a dress is totally appropriate as it's part of the story. Plus where the girl is standing is also really relevant to the story.

A Want So Wicked by Suzanne Young
June 2012

So I haven't read A Need So Beautiful, the first book in this series, but I just wanted to feature this cover because it's just so pretty. And I like the bluish-purple colour in the cover.

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund
June 2012

This cover could honestly not be more gorgeous, at this point I don't even care what the story is about. And if the final cover ends up being foily or shimmery it will just make it even more gorgeous.

Rapture by Lauren Kate
June 2012

Another Lauren Kate cover. Like I said, I haven't read any of the books in this series but I have always admired the covers from affar. This one definitely follows the same idea as the other covers which is always nice as far as covers are concerned.

So these are the new covers that I have seen popping up this week. Like I've already said, I should have named this post something about covers featuring girls wearing dresses because that is definitely a recurring theme, especially with these particular covers. But while it may be something that is starting to be overdone, it definitely doesn't take away from the fact that all of these covers are absolutely gorgeous.

New Covers Galore!

I don't know what it is about this week, but I keep on seeing fantastic new covers for upcoming books popping up everywhere. Many of them are books I am really looking forward to, others are just to gorgeous not to feature. So here are some of the new covers that appeared this week. (All links go to Goodreads)

Dreamless by Josephine Angelini
May 2012

I absolutely CANNOT wait for the release of this book. I just have to know what happens next with Helen and Lucas, especially after the way Starcrossed ended. I love this cover, not only is it absolutely gorgeous but it also fits in really well with the cover of book one.

May 2012

Meg Cabot is quite possibly my favorite author ever. I have read every single one of her books and so for the obvious reason I can't wait to get my hands on this one. Underworld  is the sequel to Abandon. The way the first book ended has left me wanting more since April. The cover itself is so appropriate for the book, especially the hand reaching up to grab Pierce. Plus it's blue and flowery and pretty.

May 2012

I haven't actually read this series but I do own the first book and have been meaning to read it for the longest time. But this cover is gorgeous, and not only that but they also redesigned the other two covers (Shade & Shift) in this series to match.

May 2012

This is another series I haven't yet started but the covers have just been gorgeous. The cover of the first book, If I Die, was gorgeous and if anything, this one is even more amazing. Now if I would just read the books...

Taken by Storm by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
May 2012

I don't know whether or not this cover has been officially revealed but it's on Goodreads, so I'll go ahead and post it. Anyways, I am unbelievably excited for this book and the cover is just perfect for it. It fits in with the previous two covers and I like the lightning in the background is really appropriate considering the title of the book.

June 2012

I haven't read many of Susane Colasanti's books, I just couldn't help but show this cover. It's so simple but at the same time there is so much to it. And from what the author has said, there are elements on the cover that are directly related to what happens in the book.

Timepiece by Myra McEntire
June 2012

This is the sequel to Hourglass and I am just loving the cover. I have to admit I haven't read the first book yet even though it's been on my bookshelf but I just have to show this cover. Even though I know more or less nothing about the story, the cover definitely fits in with the first one and that is enough for me (at least for now).

July 2012

How absolutely gorgeous is this cover? I haven't yet read Supernaturally but I can't wait for this book. All the covers are so gorgeous and once again, I am definitely loving the purple.

So these are some of the covers I've seen popping up around the blogosphere in the last couple of weeks. If you ask me, all of them are absolutely gorgeous, and in all honesty, I can't wait to get my hands on pretty much every single one of these books (and the ones that came before if I haven't read those already). If you saw any other new covers this week, I'd love to see them too!

Cover Alert!

It was announced earlier this year that Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series wouldn't end with City of Glass like most people believed but that there would actually be three more books to come. The first of these three new books is City of Fallen Angels, which picks up where the previous book left off.

The cover has just been revealed today and it is absolutely gorgeous, I can't wait for April to actually be able to hold it in my hands.

And so here is the cover:

Cassandra Clare has been posting teasers from the upcoming books on her website and you can find all of them by going here. With the cover there was also an exclusive new excerpt of the book that was given which you can find by going here. And finally there is also a mini trailer that can be found here.

I absolutely love this series and The Infernal Devices, the prequel series. When it was announced there were more books coming I was absolutely ecstatic. I can't wait to go back into that world, if only so I can swoon whenever Jace comes on the page. As far as I'm concerned, April 5th 2011 cannot come soon enough.
